Thursday 6th Aug Last year me and my partner found out we were pregnant. The pregnancy went pretty smoothly. Everything was great. I loved every bit of being pregnant the good and the bad. It got to my due date and baby still wasnt here. We had many trips to hospital to induce labour. 11 days after my due date my waters broke. Me and partner went to hospital to confirm i was indeed in labour. We thought everything was okaii until they monitored baby. That's when they discovered that his heart rate dropped every time i had a contraction. From there i got rushed for an emergancy c-section. Not know what was happening my partner rushed to the doctors because he wasnt getting enough oxygen. Luckily after about 6 minutes he was okaii. That's what we thought. We stayed in hospital a few days to make sure baby was okaii. That is when doctors told us that he had a heart murmur but it was nothing to worry about because most babies are born with one. We got booked in for a rutine eco 8 weeks later. The doctor there told us babys main valve to his heart was too narrow and needed a proceedure to widen it. We stayed in hospital over night waiting to be transfer to Leeds the day after for this proceedure. However that day didnt come. Me and my partner stayed with baby over night and he got worse during the night. He was okaii one minute then he went cold and floppy. He was rushed to the high dependency unit as his heart had stopped. They worked on him for a good hour and no change. They told us there was nothing else they could do. Our hearts were and still are shattered. Later on we recieved the cause of death or should i say causes. He had a narrow aortic valve, speticemia and fluid on his lungs. He passed away at exactly 8 weeks old.  Share
