I’ve committed to walking 100K in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Our Granddaughter, Florence May

In memory of our beautiful Florence May ❤️

During September, I’ll be taking part in the SANDS 100k Walk in memory of my beautiful granddaughter, Florence May, and to raise money for SANDS.

Florence was our precious granddaughter, the much-loved daughter of Ellie and Jon. During pregnancy, Florence was diagnosed with Triploidy syndrome, a rare chromosomal condition which meant, heartbreakingly, that she would not survive.

Florence’s loss is made even more heartbreaking by the fact that Ellie and Jon have also lost two other precious babies. Three little lives, three babies who will always be part of their family and will never be forgotten.

There are no words to describe the pain of losing a baby before you have had the chance to watch them grow, hold them, hear their voice or make all the memories you had imagined.

But Florence was loved. She was loved by Ellie and Jon from the moment they knew she was there, and she will always be their daughter and our beautiful granddaughter.

Although Florence’s time with us was far too short, she has left a place in all our hearts that will never be filled. She will always be part of our family and will never be forgotten.

I’m taking on this 100k walk for Florence, but also for Ellie and Jon, and in memory of their three beautiful babies, as well as for every family who has experienced the devastating loss of a baby.

SANDS provides vital support to bereaved families, helping them through some of the darkest days of their lives and reminding them that they are not alone.

Every step I take will be for Florence.
Every mile will carry her name.
And every donation will help support another family when they need it most.
