I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I’ve committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week (9-15 October) for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

It’s Official!

It suddenly feels very real now! My Sands Ribbon Run T-shirt has arrived, and seeing Siobhan’s name on my dedication card has made this challenge feel even more emotional. On 10th October, I’ll be taking on the 5K Ribbon Run in memory of my beautiful daughter, Siobhan, who was just 13 days old when she died. There have been so many twists and turns since I first ran the London Marathon in her memory all those years ago. And after my accident and living with FND, this 5K is going to be a very different kind of challenge. But I’m going to take it one step at a time. 💜 For Siobhan. Always. If you’re able to support my fundraising, even a small donation really does mean so much. Every penny helps Sands support families facing the devastating loss of a baby. Thank you to everyone who is cheering me on. 💕🎀

I’ve done it… I’ve signed up for the Sands Ribbon Run. 🎀

On 10th October, I’ll be taking on a 5km challenge in honour of my beautiful daughter, Siobhan, who was just 13 days old when she died from HSV.

I’ve supported Sands in my heart for many years, and this challenge feels incredibly personal to me. I actually ran the London Marathon in Siobhan’s honour when I was 18, so this isn’t the first time I’ve put one foot in front of the other for my girl. 💗

But life has changed a lot since then. After a serious car accident and developing Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), walking and exercise are no longer easy for me.

So this 5km is going to be a challenge. A real one.

But I’m going to give it my very best, one step at a time, in memory of Siobhan and for all the babies who are loved, missed and never forgotten.

This is just the beginning of my Ribbon Run journey, and I’d love you to follow along with me. 🎀

For Siobhan. Always. 💗

For Siobhan - 5k Ribbon Run 🩷

Wednesday 23rd Sep

On 10th October, I’ll be taking part in the Sands Ribbon Run, completing 5km in memory of my beautiful daughter, Siobhan. 🎀

Siobhan was just 13 days old when she died. Losing her changed my life forever, and although so many years have passed, she is still very much a part of me.

Years ago, I ran the London Marathon in Siobhan’s honour, and I never imagined that life would take me on the journey it has since.

Following a serious car accident, suffered a brain injury and now live with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). Walking and exercising are no longer straightforward for me, and my body can make even everyday things incredibly difficult.

So this 5km is by no means an easy challenge. There will be days when my body tells me I can’t do it, but I want to try…one step at a time, in Siobhan’s memory.

I’m doing this for the babies who are desperately missed, for the families who have had to experience that unimaginable loss, and for the support that Sands provides to families when they need it most.

For Siobhan. For all the babies who are loved and never forgotten. 💗

If you can spare anything to sponsor me, I would be incredibly grateful. Every donation will help Sands continue their vital work supporting bereaved families.

5km. One step at a time. For Siobhan. 🎀
