I’m swimming in November for families facing baby loss
Swimming 5km for my brightest star ✨ 🤍
I'm taking on the Sands 5km Swim Challenge in memory of our beautiful boy, Rian.
When we found out we were expecting twin boys, we couldn't have been happier. Sadly, at 24 weeks, our world changed forever when we learnt that Rian's little heart had stopped beating.
I continued carrying both boys until 32 weeks, when Jaiden was born prematurely. It was a time filled with so many conflicting emotions, grieving for one son whilst worrying about the other.
Today, Jaiden brings us more happiness than we could ever have imagined, but there will always be someone missing. I often wonder what life would have been like with both our boys here, growing up together.
During the hardest time of our lives, we were incredibly fortunate to have the love and support of our family, friends and the wonderful bereavement midwives in Leicester. Their kindness and compassion meant more than words can express.
I'm swimming 5km to honour Rian and to support Sands, so that other families facing the heartbreak of losing a baby can receive the care and support that meant so much to us.
