I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run
I’ve committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week (9-15 October) for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
Thank you.
£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.
£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.
£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

I never imagined that one day I would be taking part in a charity run for something so close to my heart.
Elle sadly passed away in her sleep when she was just five weeks old. No family should ever have to experience the heartbreak of losing a baby, and the pain of losing her is something we will carry with us forever.
I’ve decided to take part in my first charity run to raise awareness for Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity.
For me, this run isn’t just about crossing a finish line. It’s about remembering a beautiful little baby who was here, who was loved, and who will always be a part of our family.
It’s also about raising awareness of baby loss and helping other families who find themselves facing the unimaginable. Sands provides support to families after the death of a baby, helping them through some of the darkest moments of their lives.
Losing a baby can feel incredibly lonely, and sometimes people simply don’t know what to say. Raising awareness matters because baby loss matters. These babies matter. Their lives, however short, matter.
This will be my first charity run, and I know it will be emotional. There will probably be moments when I find it difficult, but I’ll keep going for Elle and in her memory.
I’m running for her.
I’m running for awareness.
And I’m running to help Sands continue supporting families who desperately need it.
