I’m taking part in Sands Starlight Walk

I’m taking part in the Sands Starlight Walk to support families affected by the loss of a baby, and to help bring light in the darkest of times.

Every day, 13 babies in the UK die before, during or shortly after birth. Sands works tirelessly to change this, funding research, supporting bereaved families, and striving for a world where more babies survive and every family receives the care and compassion they need.

By sponsoring me, you’ll be helping Sands continue this vital work—offering hope, understanding and support, and creating a lasting legacy in memory of every baby who has died.

Starlight Walk brings people together under the night sky to remember, reflect and walk in honour of their babies, while raising funds for Sands. If you’d like to take part, you can sign up here:
http://www.fundraising.sands.org.uk/starlight-walk. Events take place across the UK, or you can walk virtually wherever you are.

On the darkest nights, the stars shine brightest.

Thank you for helping keep that light shining.

Why now ...?

Thursday 1st Oct
Thank you for coming to our page. Myself, my Twin, Rachel, and our older brother, Stuart were only 4 & 6 when my parents found out they were expecting their fourth baby. I remember being encouraged to "get a drink" from the kitchen by our older brother Stuart, so I could earwig on our parents news.
In July 1997, I vividly remember my Mum going into labour, sadly our brother was born sleeping. He was so tiny and perfect, it broke us all for a while but ultimately brought us together as a tribe.

So why now?
I remember every Saturday we would go to the cemetery where our brother is eternally resting and lay flowers.
We always dressed our best and I remember one sage green outfit I named "my cemetery outfit" as I always seemed to wear it on a Saturday.
My Grandfather fought for a respectable resting area for the babies born asleep and it's down to him that they all have Angels Corner.
I think it's about time, as his eldest sister, to keep his memory alive, just like my parents did every Saturday, taking us to lay flowers down.

I would be grateful if you could give just a small amount to a charity that supports grieving families at their time of need.
