Our first baby
Friday 15th AugIn September, I’m taking on 100km to raise money for Sands, the charity supporting families affected by baby loss.
We lost our first baby to a missed miscarriage- something we never expected. We went into our 12-week scan with hope and excitement, only to hear the heartbreaking words: “I’m sorry, there’s no heartbeat.” Our baby had stopped growing at around 8 weeks, but my body hadn’t realised.
It was devastating- and something far too many people go through in silence.
Sands provides vital support to families like ours and funds research to help save babies’ lives. I’m walking 100km this September, with my wonderful rainbow baby, in memory of our little one and to raise awareness and support for those who experience this unimaginable loss.
