Run 2k a Day in February 2026

I’m running 2k a day in Febuary for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to running 2k a day this February for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

T H A N K Y O U !!!

Tuesday 10th Mar
Well, it’s been 28 days and at least 58kms and a good £1500!

Thank you to everyone who has donated, and to everyone who has donated since the challenge officially ended! You mad lot x

It’s been a crazy month, it’s been a difficult month in more ways than one but at least this goal was ticked off the list and surpassed.

Here’s to surpassing even more goals this year xx

Kill me now…

Tuesday 24th Feb
Today I woke up late (7am), so I couldn’t run. Then I had a late meeting (6:30pm finish), then I went straight out to dinner.

I got back at around 9pm and was about to veg out when I noticed a donation from one of the most principled men I know.

A voice inside said, ‘make up the run tomorrow!’ But the other voice told me to ‘get a f***** move on!’

So I did, and I feel crap but I’ve still upheld my end.

Bleurgh…

Shabana's story

Wednesday 18th Feb
I asked my dear friend Shabana if she would be happy to share her story with you - I am so grateful she said yes. I remember being at a loss at what I could do at the time. I am grateful I have found a way to contribute now.

"As someone who has gone through multiple losses and now get to be mumma to this bundle of joy it means a lot when people talk about, care for and take steps (or in this case strides) to support those experiencing loss. More power to you Phi!!! Big love xx"

Shabana and Tahaan (5 years old)

Halfway there, halfway to go!

Sunday 15th Feb
I’ve been using Couch to 5k alongside running the 2K. So a little bit of walking and little bit of running.

I still haven’t managed to ‘run’ the whole 2K yet, soon though. I can feel myself getting a bit better. There are moments when I even forget I am running!

We are over £1K 🥳

Friday 13th Feb
How I got here? Because of you wonderful lot.

It’s means a lot that you would support me, even if I’m tired and out of time I still push myself to get the run done, because I have committed and you have stood behind me with a cheer squad.

Let’s see if we can keep moving the needle x

Thank you, again.

Bleurgh!

Sunday 8th Feb
I thought this was supposed to get easier? I suppose a pre-run smoke is not helping matters but, seriously?

Running sucks. And what I do barely qualifies as running!

Thanks for all the donations so far. Still a bit to go and if I come close, yes the target moves. Why? Because, GROWTH.

Overwhelmed…

Thursday 5th Feb
Wow.

I seemingly smashed the arbitrary default donation limit in less than an hour of posting to my friends…

So I upped the limit.

Love you all x

Show up anyway!

Wednesday 4th Feb
The title of this post was my ‘motto’ for January. I mostly did but not all the time.

I had an affirmation too, I treat myself with kindness and compassion. Again a toughie but I think I mostly succeeded.

Anyway, I wanted to do this just to do something, in the small way that I can. I did NOT pick the shortest calendar month of year by choice. But it was serendipitous!
