I’m walking 100K in September for families facing baby loss
I’ve committed to walking 100K in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Why?
Friday 7th AugClaire and I sadly lost our son before he was born because the umbilical cord became wrapped around his neck.
Because it happened during COVID, Claire had to attend the appointment alone where she was told the devastating news. I wasn’t allowed to be there with her, and that is something that will stay with us forever.
We were able to meet our little boy. Because he was born so early, he was incredibly tiny — barely the size of my hand. In the middle of the darkest time of our lives, another charity provided beautiful sleep suits and bedding made from donated wedding dresses for babies in situations like ours. The kindness and compassion they showed us is something we will never forget.
He would have been six years old now.
If there is anything I can do to help prevent another family from experiencing the heartbreak we went through, or to help save a baby at any stage, then I want to do it. Supporting Sands is a small way for me to give something back and hopefully help other families when they need it most. ❤️
