I’m walking 100K in September for families facing baby loss

Hi family & friends, in honour of our son David’s 10th anniversary in Heaven Jonathan and I have committed to walking 100K in September to raise money for the Sands organisation here in the UK who aid and help those who have sadly lost a precious child.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby.

Anything you are able to donate would mean so much and would be really appreciated.

David went to Heaven on September 2nd 2016 and we look forward to seeing him again soon in Heaven because of what Jesus did on the cross for each and everyone of us. Not As I Expected

Tuesday 1st Sep

I was looking forward to my first day out walking the roughly 2.2 miles that I hope to do each day of September, but here I am stuck in bed feeling very weak from a sickness and diarrhoea virus that’s making its way through our home. This day is not how I expected it to turn out or how I wanted.

I can say I felt this way 10 years ago too (on a much larger scale) when our son went to Heaven earlier than I would have wanted or expected. But I can honestly say that over the past 10 years and the 33 years prior to that that I have learnt that my God knows what He’s doing (in the larger & smaller picture of things) and I can trust Him.

This awful virus that I’ve got reminds me once again that I am weak, but my loving Heavenly Father is strong. It reminds me that I don’t always know what’s around the corner, but my God does and He’s working it together for good. Because His heart is always only ever good towards His children. May each and every one of us find the comfort and peace that only our great God and Creator can give. X
