Winter sucks

Saturday 14th Feb I detest the winter. I was born and raised in Malta until I was 5. England annoys me. The weather here never really knows how to do it properly. It snows, but not enough to have a snow day off school. Its sunny, but usually windy and/or cloudy at the same time. Apart from the beautiful sky at sunrise, and the way the snow sits on bare branches, I HATE it. So, naturally I can't wait for March. January and February are truly the worst time of year for me so when I saw the opportunity to raise money by walking when the spring is springing, I jumped on it. I love to walk, mostly in the woods. All the different crunchy sounds at my feet, the way the sun slices through the trees. The smells and the possibilities of seeing a shy creature leaping off at my arrival. I just LOVE it. Mostly though, its the trees. And yes, I am a tree hugger. Literally. They also make me think of Jacob. There is a song called 'light through day' by Alexander Chapman Campbell, that also makes me think of Jacob and trees. The happy sadness of the song as it lilts and flows like leaves blowing in a changing wind. Sometimes I wish I could be a leaf, sitting on the forest floor, just waiting for the wind to move me.  Share
