I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run
I’ve committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run in Manchester which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week on Saturday 10 October 2026. I am taking part for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.
£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.
£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

In memory of River & Bella 🤍
Friday 28th AugOn 10th October, I’ll be taking part in a 5K run to raise money for Sands, in memory of two very special babies, my daughter River and my friend’s daughter, Bella.
River was born sleeping on 12th May 2026. We were given 39 precious hours to hold her, love her, say hello and say goodbye. Those hours are some of the most heartbreaking and precious of our lives. She may not have had the chance to grow up, but she will always be our daughter, and her place in our family will never change.
Baby loss is something no parent should ever have to experience, and yet so many families do. The loss of a baby can leave an unimaginable emptiness, and the support offered in the days, weeks and years afterwards can make such a difference.
Sands supports anyone affected by the death of a baby, helping families through one of the most heartbreaking experiences they can face. They provide bereavement support, information and a community for people who may otherwise feel very alone in their grief.
I’m taking part in this run to remember River and Bella, to honour them and to help raise money so that other bereaved parents and families can access the support they so desperately need.
