2026 Walk 100k in September

I’m walking 100K in September for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to walking 100K in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

Our little story✨

Saturday 8th Aug
On the 22nd of April 2026 I had excruciating pain on my right side I called the NHS 24 who advised me to go straight to the hospital in A&E I received the news that I was pregnant but they wanted gynaecology to have a look and make sure everything was ok. They could not see anything on the internal scan they advised me this was due to me being so early. I got kept in as they could not figure out what was happening. I was then discharged and had to return on the Friday I returned to be told I had sadly had a miscarriage however I would still need to go to the hospital until my HCG levels dropped. My levels in fact did not drop but risen so on Monday 27th April I went for a scan where the midwife found an ectopic pregnancy in my right tube which had already ruptured I was rushed straight to theatre as this was life or death with the amount of internal bleeding. Unfortunately I lost my right tube. The surgeon made me aware there was something weird on my left side. I went for 2 weeks after and they advised me my HCG levels dropped but never followed up on my left side.

Fast forward to the 8th June 2026 I felt really funny and somehow had an instinct to take a pregnancy test which came up positive straight away. I was seen straight away by early pregnancy and my HCG levels came back at 21,000 again I was rushed for a scan which unfortunately showed another ectopic pregnancy on my left side but this was much more rare as it was an instuitial ectopic pregnancy (the baby is growing in the womb but also the muscle) myself and my fiance hearts were shattered we could not believe this was happening to us again as we were already grieving our first heartbreak. I was kept in hospital for 4 days unsure what was going to happen as I was being called a “medical marvel” on 11th June I was then taking down to theatre as my womb was rupturing. They managed to save my left tube but unfortunately don’t know if this will work or if I will ever be able to conceive naturally which we will not get answers until October regarding this.

Our angel babies were in fact twins. Yous never arrived in our arms but yous will never leave our hearts👼🏻🤍 McMenemie twins yous are so loved the brightest stars in the sky✨

I am walking in memory of our babies and also to raise awareness for ectopic pregnancies. Any donations would be extremely appreciated🫶🏼
