2026 Ribbon Run Virtual

I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I’ve committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week (9-15 October) for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

In loving memory of our beautiful daughter Millie

Monday 10th Aug
Our daughter Millie was born on 6th February 2022, she appeared to be a healthy baby girl with no complications. But we noticed Millie’s hands and feet have a purple tinge to them, I raised this concern to the health visitor on a few occasions but they said it was normal and not too worry. Then when Millie was 8 days old she was struggling to breath so we rushed her to A&E and then our whole lives changed, Millie went into cardiac arrest and was rushed to resus. After hours of investigation they told us that Millie had a heart defect called ‘Pulmonary atresia valve intact ventricular septum’
We was told she needed to be taken to Evelina London children hospital, and was transported via panda transport. Millie under went a major operation and after hours she finally came out of surgery, Millie started to recover really well and we could finally hold her we felt so relieved to have her in our arms. But then on 20th February 2022 our world changed, Millie had a cardiac arrest and sadly passed away. Losing a child is one of the hardest things any parent can survive, our lives will never be the same again.
