I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I’ve committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run in Manchester which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week on Saturday 10 October 2026. I am taking part for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

Friday 28th Aug

Today I was both surprised and delighted to receive a donation from a friend I haven’t seen for a long time.

This lovely gesture is a  reminder of the power of fundraising and of spreading the word. It’s also made me reflect on the importance of celebrating life, living well and healthily, and finding our own ways of coping with loss and death, whenever and however it touches our lives.

A lreminder that every donation, no matter how small or large, is genuinely appreciated and will help support the important work of SANDS x

A Ribbon Run for Otto

Thursday 27th Aug

I’m taking part in the SANDS Baby Loss Awareness Ribbon Run to raise money and awareness in memory of our firstborn child, Otto, who was born and died in January 2008.

I rarely speak about Otto publicly,  so taking this step after all these years feels significant.

Time has passed, but Otto will always be our first child. I’m doing this Ribbon Run for him, and for all the babies and families affected by baby loss.

If you’re able to support me with a donation, I’d be incredibly grateful. 🤍

For Otto with love x
