I’m knitting for families facing baby loss
Hi everyone! This winter I am taking on the Sands Knit to Remember challenge. Because Sands currently has a full supply of blankets, I am using my knitting needles to support two incredible causes at once.
Over the next few months, I will aim to hand-knit tiny cardigans, hats, and blankets to safely donate directly to the Newborn Care Unit (SSNAP) at the John Radcliffe Hospital. While my physical knits will go to keep hospital babies warm, every single penny raised on this page will go directly to Sands to fund vital research, campaign for safer healthcare, and support bereaved families.
I'm knitting for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby.
