I’m running 2k a day in Febuary for families facing baby loss
From tomorrow, 1st February, I’m challenging myself to run 2km a day for a cause that’s close to my heart.
I’ll be taking on the Run 2km a Day challenge in support of Sands.
If I’m being completely honest, this challenge is about more than just running. I know I need a bit of a reset at the moment, both physically and mentally, and having a good cause behind it will help me stick with it. I’ve overindulged over the last few months, I work a desk job, and I’ve run once… maybe twice in the past year. While 2km doesn’t sound like much, 2km every single day alongside work, life and kids will definitely be a challenge for me - not helped by the fact I’ve caught the latest nursery bug, and day two starts with a 6:30am train to exhibit at a conference in Birmingham 🙃.
So February for me will look a lot like:
Late-night runs once the kids are asleep
Lunch breaks swapped for trainers
Buggy runs on my days off, with my 2-year-old as my co-pilot
And a very supportive husband doing a lot of the cooking ❤️
I need the mental backup of doing this for a good cause to actually stick with it, and Sands is more than worthy of that effort.
If you’re able to spare any pennies at all, I’d be hugely grateful. And if not, a cheer, a message, or even just tolerating my inevitable running updates throughout February would mean just as much 😅.
I’ll try not to bore everyone too much along way 😉
