I’m running 2k a day in Febuary for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to running 2k a day this February for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Baby Harry 🕊🩵

Wednesday 4th Feb
From Harry's Mum:

At our 20-week scan, we thought we’d be finding out if Jack would have a brother or sister. Instead, our world changed forever with the words: “I’m so sorry, I’ve found a heart abnormality.”

Our baby was diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. It wasn’t fixable. On 16th February, our journey changed in a way no parent should ever have to face.

Because of how far along I was, we had to stop Harry’s heart. We saw his last heartbeats on the monitor, felt his last little kicks… and then had to go home for 2 long days before I could be induced. Those were the worst days of my life — knowing he was still there, but no longer moving. I would have given anything to feel just one more kick.

On 8th March at 3:32pm, Harry was born. We had 24 precious hours with him. We read books, watched Bluey, and I got to cuddle him through a silent but magical night. It wasn’t the life we had dreamed of, but it was time I will cherish forever.

His funeral was beautiful — full of poems, songs, and love. It gave us comfort to be surrounded by people who cared so deeply for our boy.
