2026 Walk 100k in September

I’m walking 100K in September in memory of Zach

I’ve committed to walking 100K in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

I am that 1 in 4 women who experienced pregnancy loss in 2013 losing Ethan's twin brother Zachary. Despite every medical attempt and fetal procedures carried out by the fantastic Professor Mark Kilby at Birmingham's Women's Hospital, sadly my little boy Zach was too precious for this world.

The heartbreak and pain felt in 2013 is felt each year often with thoughts of how different my life would have been; a young Mum bringing up twin boys (red headed feisty boys). I thank my lucky stars that Ethan is the only one who like me felt his heartbeat.

"A pregnancy loss is a death we experience in our own bodies: There is no death we experience more intimately than one that literally passes through us"

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
