I’m running 2k a day in Febuary for families facing baby loss
In February, my eldest son and I will be running 2K every day to raise money for Sands, a charity that supports bereaved families and children.
When my son was born, he was diagnosed with cancer. Like any parent facing news like that, we feared the worst and were terrified we might lose him. Thankfully, after surgery and treatment, he survived and is now healthy — something we will forever be grateful for.
Sadly, not every family gets the outcome we did. Over the years, I have heard so many heartbreaking stories of parents losing their babies and children to tragic illnesses and rare conditions.
I’ve committed to running 2K a day this February for every much-loved baby sadly not here today. Sands ensures that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve during the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support vital research so that fewer babies die and fewer families have to experience such tragedy.
