I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run this Baby Loss Awareness Week 9-15 October.

Sands exists to support anyone affected by the death of a baby, before, during or shortly after birth, whenever this happened and for as long as they need support.

By sponsoring me, you are helping Sands break the silence around baby loss and to continue to save babies’ lives.

£10 - could provide a hand and footprint kit to help create memories.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

Ribbon Run 🎀2025

Monday 18th Aug
The Ribbon Run 🎀 is something my family and I have done for past 3 yrs.
Why? Because nearly.4 yrs ago my daughter had premature twins with TTTS (Twin To Twin Transfusion Syndrome)
My daughter went into hospital to under go laser therapy which stops the twins sharing the same vessels.
Elena and Thea were born on the 17th October by emergency c section due to my daughter becoming septic after being readmitted to hospital post procedure and spending around a week and a half in the maternity hospital
At this point I was afraid i was going to lose them all
Once Thea and Elena were here the went straight to Niccu
Unfortunately Elena past 6 days later.
Thea was fighting she was improving each day we gained more hope.
About just a few days shy of a month old Thea was extubated and put on what is referred to as baby Bipap.
All seemed good although not out of the woods but gave a greiving mum and her family hope
Unfortunately a month to the day that Elena gained her wings Thea joined her sister.
SANDS do so much for families  who have to go through this trauma and with fund raising we can make sure that other families get to have the same support as we did as a family.
This experience never leaves you ...you learn to live with it ...life changes but we try to keep Thea and Elenas memory alive for their sister and cousins who remember that Mum/ Auntie Aleisha was having twins
Also I can only thank Sands for the memory box my daughter turns to on her days of questioning why and the casts of those precious babies hands and feet Aleisha got to have because of Sands
That is a small look into our reasons for doing the ribbion run 🎀

Thank you to my Sponsors
