2026 Ribbon Run Virtual

I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I will be walking 10K for the Sands Ribbon Run in October (9th-15th) during Baby Loss Awareness Week in memory of my son, Noah Avery Dawson, who was born sleeping on 7th July 2026. He was 16+3 weeks gestation and weighed a tiny 70 grams.

We were able to spend over 24 hours with our son, giving him cuddles, making memories, taking photos and even introducing him to his big brother Gabriel. The loss of our boy is profound for our family, and he will never be forgotten.

We were able to be cared for in our local bereavement suite, with use of a cold cot, and were able to come home with a memory box filled with hand and foot prints and other invaluable keepsakes. We had the opportunity to take photos of our son using water immersion photography, and remain under the care of the bereavement midwives whilst he is undergoing a post mortem examination at Great Ormand Street Hospital.

This is all possible because of the hard work charities like Sands do and the widespread reach their campaigning, training and fundraising has. Without this, not even that long ago, we may have not even been able to see our son after I delivered him. He would have been disposed of as medical waste.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access their training, guidance and support.

Update on Noah

Friday 28th Aug
We’ve recently had the post mortem results back for our Noah, and the examiners were not able to identify any reason for his passing. Essentially, his body and his placenta was perfect, just as we suspected. Whilst it’s hard not knowing what caused Noah to leave us, we also feel it’s a sign that some souls are meant to touch ours just for a moment before moving on to another world.

Noah, we wish you could have stayed. We love you with all our hearts and we will miss who you were meant to be forever. But your legacy is helping other families who’ve been through what we’ve been through, and making some of their moments a little shinier. Here’s to you darling boy🩵

Walking 10k for Noah

Saturday 8th Aug

In memory of my beautiful son, Noah, who we lost at 16 weeks gestation.

In July 2026, our lives changed forever when we said goodbye to our precious baby boy. Although we only had a short time with Noah, he was already so deeply loved, wanted and a part of our family. Losing him has left a space in our lives that can never be filled.

I am taking on the challenge of walking 10 kilometres to raise money for Sands (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society), a charity that supports families who have experienced the devastating loss of a baby.

I am doing this for Noah. I am doing it to keep his memory alive, to honour the little boy who will always be our son, and to help other families who find themselves facing the unimaginable pain of baby loss.

Every kilometre will be walked with Noah in my heart.

If you are able to donate, no matter how small, I would be incredibly grateful. Your support will help Sands continue to provide vital support to bereaved families and work towards a future where no family has to face baby loss alone.

For Noah, always and forever. 🩵
