2026 Ribbon Run Virtual

I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I’ve committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week (9-15 October) for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

Walk for all Angel Babies

Friday 21st Aug
I will be walking for all Angel babies. After years of secondary infertility I finally saw that positive test but unfortunately that was taken away far too quickly multiple times.

I then went on to fall pregnant again and we finally saw our little peanut on an ultrasound at 7 weeks, saw a strong little heart beat. It then came to our 12 week ultrasound where we were given the devastating news “I’m sorry but there’s no heart beat” my world came crashing down. I had to carry my baby for an additional 2 weeks from then until I had surgical management booked in.

Fast forward to the following year, another positive pregnancy test. I was under Tommys at this time, the anxiety after pregnancy is so hard. I was having scans from 6 weeks due to being under Tommys and other complications which makes me high risk of having ectopic pregnancies. We saw our beautiful boy 2 times on ultrasound doing absolutely amazing. Then came to the last scan I was supposed to have with Tommys I was 11 weeks and 3 days at this point. To start with the women was struggling to see him as his was laying awkwardly so I had to move around. It went silent and then she said “I’m so sorry” I knew straight away my boy was gone. No one should ever have to go through that heart break. Testing was done on our boy and he was very poorly. If I had made it to full term he would have survived for even 12-24 hours. I was yet again absolutely devastated but have now come to the terms of how poorly he was and it was the lesser of two evils.
My angel babies will always mean the world to me ❤️‍🩹

They say it’s 1 in 4 when it comes to miscarriages but I fully believe the number is greater.

You only receive extra care and testing once you have reached a total of 3 miscarriages which should not be the case. Finding is so desperately needed for the charities to be able to help change all of this.

When you miscarry and your in hospital you are not put in a separate waiting room, even if you are waiting for a second ultrasound to confirm your baby has passed. You will have to wait among happy couples, very heavily pregnant women and this is absolutely heartbreaking 💔❤️‍🩹

Change needs to happen.
