100K for George: Walking to Support Families Facing Baby Loss
Hi everyone
This September, I’m taking part in the 2026 Walk 100k — a month-long challenge to walk 100 kilometres — in memory of my son, George, who died less than a day after he was born, 25 years ago.
As I walk towards my 100k goal, I’ll be thinking about George. I’ll also be honouring my family, and all my friends, old and new, whose love, kindness, and support have sustained me in so many ways over the years since his death.
I’m raising money for Sands (the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death charity), an incredible organisation that offered us invaluable support at one of the most difficult times in our lives. Sands continues to work tirelessly to support bereaved families and to save babies’ lives, making such an important difference to families facing the unimaginable loss of a baby. They also fund key research as well as improving maternity safety and bereavement care.
