I’m walking 100K in September for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to walking 100K in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Why I’m walking this September

This September, I’m going to attempt to walk 100km to raise some money for Sands. In 2020, on 26th August I went to my first 12 week scan full of excitement to see our baby.
The midwife went very quiet, and my heart sank as it became obvious something was wrong. Our baby was found to have a large cystic hygroma. After weeks of appointments, invasive tests and uncertainty, our girl was found to have Turner’s Syndrome and we lost her at 17 weeks. Our little Hannah. 
We received so much love and support during that time, and though September will always remind me of the worry and waiting of 2020; hopefully this year I can raise a little money to remember Hannah and all the other babies lost too soon - in particular Eliza, Benjamin, Sophie and baby C x
