2026 Ribbon Run Virtual

I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I’ve committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run in Manchester which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week on Saturday 10 October 2026. I am taking part for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

Walking 5K for Sands – Because I Am 1 in 4 ❤️

Sunday 9th Aug

From 9th October to 15th October, Baby Loss Awareness Week takes place — a week dedicated to remembering babies who have sadly died, supporting families affected by baby loss, and raising awareness of something that far too many people experience, yet is still not spoken about enough.
This year, I will be taking part by walking 5K to raise money for Sands a charity that is incredibly close to my heart.
Sands supports anyone affected by the death of a baby. Before, during or shortly after birth. They provide bereavement support, information and guidance to families going through what can be one of the most devastating experiences imaginable.
Over the course of 10 years, I have experienced my own losses. Baby loss is something that stays with you. It changes you, and although life moves forward, the love and life you planned for that child never disappears.

I was incredibly lucky to eventually be blessed with my beautiful son, Hugo. He is my absolute world, and I will forever be grateful that I got to become his mum.
But I know that not everyone gets that happy ending.

There are so many parents who have had to leave hospital with empty arms. Parents who have had to say goodbye to a baby they had already imagined their whole future with. Parents whose babies will never get to grow up, and whose families will carry that loss with them forever.
That is why I want to do this.

I want to walk my 5K not only to raise money, but to raise awareness. To remember the babies who are no longer here. To stand beside the parents who have experienced baby loss. And to remind people that their babies matter, their grief matters and their stories matter.
1 in 4 women experience baby loss.
I am 1 in 4.
And I will keep talking about it.
I will keep raising awareness.
I will keep remembering.
Because behind that statistic are real women, real families, real babies and real stories.

If you are able to donate, no matter how big or small, I would be incredibly grateful. Your support could help Sands continue providing vital support to bereaved families and help ensure that nobody has to face baby loss alone.
And if you can't donate, simply sharing this page, talking about baby loss or helping to break the silence means more than you may realise.

This 5K is for the babies we have lost, for the families who continue to miss them, for those who are currently walking through their grief, and for every single person who knows what it means to be 1 in 4.

For my babies.
For Hugo.
For every baby gone too soon.
For every family left behind.
And for a future where baby loss is spoken about, understood and never forgotten. ❤️
I am 1 in 4. And we will keep raising awareness.

Thank you 🕊️
