I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I’ve committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week (9-15 October) for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

💛Eden, Everly & Ember Besim💛

Friday 25th Sep
Let me start by introducing you to our heavenly children… who we have very recently named. It has taken us 2.5 years to get to this point…

Ember was our early miscarriage in November 2023.
Ember like a fire ember softly glowing when the fires gone out.

Everly was twin 2, who passed in Jan 2024 at 6 weeks pregnant.
Everly as in Everlasting love.

Then Eden was twin 1, in Feb 2024 at our 12wk scan & who I delivered in hospital so we got to see his/her face.
Eden as in a paradise you never wanted to leave.

We all have different ways of managing our grief. For me it started with 10,000 steps a day for Tommys back in March 2024… which progressed to doing 5km park runs, then a couple 10kms, a half marathon and a full marathon.

This past year I have not been running as much. However, I promised my babies I’d challenge myself to raise money for baby loss charities once a year in their honour. I can’t bring myself to mark their anniversaries in any kind of way, as that feels all too raw. So this is my way of celebrating the short lives they had & remembering them.

I plan on running 15km, 5km for each of our babies lives. I will do the last 5km at Park Run Chelmsford.

Any donation will help comfort those going through the loss of a baby and hopefully prevent it from happening in the first place.
