Swimming 5k for Nova 🤍🦋

In November, I will be taking on a 5K swim to raise money for Sands, in loving memory of my beautiful baby niece, Nova.

On 5th October 2026, my sister Ruby and her boyfriend Bailey experienced the unimaginable heartbreak of losing their precious baby girl, Nova, at just 20 weeks and 1 day of pregnancy. Our family’s hearts have been broken by the loss of a little girl who was already so loved and will forever be a part of us.

I am doing this challenge for Ruby and Bailey, and in honour of our beautiful Nova. Although she was taken from us far too soon, she will never be forgotten. I want to do something meaningful in her memory and help support other families who are facing the devastating loss of their precious babies.

Why Sands?

Sands is a UK charity dedicated to supporting anyone affected by pregnancy and baby loss. They provide vital emotional and practical support to bereaved parents and families, help improve the care families receive during such heartbreaking times, and fund research and campaign for changes that can help save babies’ lives.

No family should ever have to experience the loss of a baby, but for those who do, having somewhere to turn for understanding, comfort and support can make a difference during the darkest days. Sands works tirelessly to make sure families do not have to face their grief alone, while helping to prevent future baby loss.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help Sands continue this incredibly important work and support families who need it most.

This 5K swim is for my sister, Ruby, for Bailey, and for the beautiful little girl who will always hold a special place in our hearts.
