2026 Ribbon Run Virtual

I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I’ve committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week (9-15 October) for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

Team Arnold’s Ribbon Run

Friday 11th Sep

Fifteen years ago, my first child Franklynn, was stillborn at 41+1 weeks, due to a silent placental abruption-  I went into labour at home and didn’t know anything was wrong until we arrived at the hospital and it was too late. That guilt haunts me on a daily basis. How did I not know what was happening in my own body? I then went on to have my 2 beautiful rainbow babies, Anise-13 and Albie 6. Sadly; we then had the heartbreak of losing our twins through late miscarriage. Baby loss, no matter what gestation, is something that stays with you forever, time doesn’t heal and families continue to carry their losses for many years.

This year, as a family, we are taking part in the Sands Ribbon Run to remember our precious babies, raise awareness of baby loss, and recognise the heartbroken families left behind.

On Baby Loss Awareness Day, 15th October, we will be in Rhodes. We plan to walk 5km in the evening, finishing on the beach, where we will light our candle for the Wave of Light at 7pm.

If you are able to, please consider sponsoring us. I would especially love your support for Anise and Albie, who asked to join us.

Anise and Albie talk about Franklynn and the twins on a daily basis. They are still a huge part of our lives and remembered in absolutely everything we do. I am so proud of Anise and Albie for wanting to make a difference!

Every donation, no matter how small, means so much to us. Even if you can’t donate, we appreciate everyone’s love and support over the years.

Thank you for supporting us, remembering our precious babies, and standing alongside all the families affected by baby loss. 💙💛❤️
