I’m walking 100K in September for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to walking 100K in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Those close to me will understand my reasons for attempting this challenge, but for those who don’t… 
Over a 9 year period, my husband and I suffered 10 miscarriages. We heard all of the usual comments such as “it wasn’t meant to be”’, “everything happens for a reason”, “next time…”, some people didn’t know what to say, others kept asking why we kept trying, why we put ourselves through it. It was a very lonely time. Excruciatingly painful each time, but we wanted that rainbow so much. Like many, I couldn’t help but blame myself for each loss and that feeling got worse each time. 
What was worse is that at every scan, where the excitement turned to numbness and self loathing, it was made worse by having to sit in a room full of pregnant women. After each missed miscarriage, after several surgical interventions, even nurses in the recovery room asked me why I was crying 😢 

Following all of this I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and suffer pain and other symptoms daily. I’ve gone from being active, to struggling to shower and although I work full time, some days I cannot even get out of bed. However, to raise awareness, promote this charity and raise some money, I wanted to take this challenge on.
