I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run
I’ve committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week (9-15 October) for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
Thank you.
£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.
£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.
£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

Never Forget
Friday 9th OctTen years ago, my world fell apart when the sonographer turned to me and said the words I will never forget…
“I am so sorry, but there’s no heartbeat.” 💓
Just three weeks earlier, I had sat watching our little baby’s heartbeat on the scan, filled with hope, love and dreams for the future. Never in a million years did I imagine that, just weeks later, everything would change.
The days that followed were a blur. An operation, emotions I couldn’t begin to process, and then my birthday , a day that should have been filled with happiness but instead was overshadowed by a heartbreak I didn’t know how to navigate.
All I could think was, “What have I done wrong? Why have I lost our baby?”
Pregnancy loss brings so many questions, so much pain and a kind of grief that is difficult to put into words. At the time, I never thought life would feel the same again. A part of me had changed forever, and I had to find a way to carry that loss with me.
A loss is a loss, but everyone’s journey is different. Behind every story is a family, a baby who was loved, and hopes and dreams that mattered. No two experiences are the same, but every loss deserves to be acknowledged, and every grieving parent deserves compassion and understanding.
We were incredibly lucky to have our rainbow baby 🌈, and I will be forever thankful for the joy, love and happiness they have brought into our lives. But having our rainbow baby did not erase the baby we lost. Both things can be true: I can be grateful for the family we have and still carry the love and sadness for the baby who will always be part of our story.
Ten years on, I still remember those words. I still remember the heartbreak. And I will never forget the little baby we lost, or the place they will always hold in my heart. 💗
That is why I am taking part in the Ribbon Run. I want to honour our baby, remember the little life that will always matter to us, and help raise awareness for pregnancy and baby loss. If sharing my story helps even one person feel less alone, then it is worth it.
This run is for our baby, for all the babies gone too soon, and for every family who has experienced the heartbreak of loss. For the parents who carry their grief quietly, for those still searching for answers, and for those who have found happiness again while never forgetting the baby they lost.
Ten years later, you are still loved, still remembered, and forever part of our story. 💗🎗️🌈
If you are able to support my Ribbon Run, any donation, no matter how big or small, would mean so much to me. Thank you for helping me honour our baby and support a cause that is so close to my heart 💓
