Walking 100km This September for Baby Eric 💙

Sunday 31st Aug

In May 2024, our beautiful baby boy Eric came into the world. Just a few short weeks later, in June, we had to say goodbye far sooner than we ever imagined. He gained his angel wings, and life changed forever.

No parent should have to experience the heartbreak of losing a child—but too many do. That’s why, this September, I’m walking 100 kilometers in memory of my best friends baby, Eric, and for all the babies who were taken too soon.

I’m taking on this challenge as part of Sands’ September Challenge, raising vital funds to support bereaved families and fund research into saving little lives. Sands (the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society) has been a light in the darkness for so many families like mine, offering support, understanding, and hope when it feels like the world has stopped.

Walking 100km is nothing compared to the journey of grief—but every step I take is for Eric. For his memory. For the love that will never fade. And for the families who will sadly walk this path in the future. I want them to know they’re not alone.

If you’re able to support this cause, no matter how big or small, it would mean the world.

Your donation could help fund bereavement support, research, and hospital training—giving families the care they need during the hardest moments of their lives.

Thank you for reading, for walking beside me in spirit, and for helping me honor our little boy in a way that will hopefully make a difference.

With love,
Emma
