I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I’ve committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week (9-15 October) for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

Forever remembering our twin boys Oliver and Elliott

Sunday 6th Sep
12 years ago we lost our twin boys Oliver and Elliott who were born 2 weeks apart. Oliver passed away shortly after birth. Miraculously Elliott remained inside for another 2 weeks until I developed maternal sepsis and heartbreakingly passed away 2 weeks later. 
I have since found out that one of the major contributing factors to their premature births was related to a connective disorder I have called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. 
Alongside EDS,  I have an autonomic disorder (POTS) which affects all aspects of my life, where I am forced to use a crutch and wheelchair. 
But this will not stop me from raising money and keeping the memory of our boys alive! 
I am actually doing this walk/run/ride with the Midwife who delivered Oliver! So this is a huge challenge for me emotionally and physically but if this helps to raise awareness, money for a charity which helped us through our worst time and show our Boys we still think of them everyday then I am in!
