I’m walking 100K in September for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to walking 100K in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Facing the challenge

Thursday 24th Sep
I had a huge motivational push today. I was called in early to work, meaning my plans for a walk became really time limited. It would have been easy to say that I didn't have time.. that's what I was feeling!
 But then I reminded myself of something very real. You know what's infinitely harder than a quick walk? Baby loss. 
So I got on with it and RAN as much of the route as I could, with all of these parents and babies in mind. 

 No excuses. The cause is bigger than me. We are raising money for this charity so that we can help prevent baby loss and support families when the worst happens.

First Walk - Ness Islands

A lovely start to the challenge. Gorgeous, bright weather and beautiful surroundings. I decided to complete my first walk where we got engaged. 
It felt very poignant to stumble upon a bench supplied by a baby loss counselling and support group, Held In Our Hearts.
