I’m walking 100K in September for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to walking 100K in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Olive 🫒

Hello! I'm Emily and my husbands name is Jonny. We have a beautiful daughter, Ivy and a golden retriever called Winnie. But before Ivy and Winnie, was Olive. Olive is our first born, our girl that made us a Mum and Dad. She changed us deep in our core and we are who we are today because of her. We parent in the way we do now because of her. And we have the view on life that we do now because of her. She made us better people, broken but better. 

In 2018 we found out at the 20wk scan that there was no chance that she would survive outside of my body. After a lot of heartbreaking back and forths we landed on the decision to continue with the pregnancy and try to enjoy as much time with her as we could. We made it to 35wks and me and Jonny delivered her ourselves at home at the bedside before the ambulance could get to us. What could have been incredibly traumatic was actually so peaceful, calm and beautiful. She lived for an hour. Her skin was softer than silk and she had the sweetest curly hair. 
The days, weeks and months afterwards were a total daze and completely heartbreaking. We had incredible support from our closest family and friends, we genuinely couldnt function and I dont know what we would have done without them. 
Knowing SANDS were there too was a huge help when we just needed to know that other people had been through similar things and we wernt alone.
