I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run for Summer

I'm taking part in Sands Ribbon Run ahead of this Baby Loss Awareness Week 9-15 October, in memory of baby Summer, my little niece, Jack and Lily's cousin, who was born sleeping in March 2025. I also carry in my heart my own pregnancy loss, and those close to me.

I will be attempting to wrangle the children as they join me in the run/walk/meander/stagger!


Sands exists to support anyone affected by the death of a baby, before, during or shortly after birth, whenever this happened and for as long as they need support. 

By sponsoring me, you are helping Sands break the silence around baby loss and to continue to save babies’ lives.

£10 - could provide a hand and footprint kit to help create memories.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

My little tiny niece, Summer; Jack and Lily's cousin, was born sleeping at 27 weeks in March 2025. She was so wanted, so yearned for, and losing her broke all of our hearts.

My sister and her partner have had to navigate the most painful and devastating loss imaginable, it’s beyond words. I am so proud of them and in awe of their courage and strength, a strength that no one should ever have to draw on. 

My hope is that we honour Summer’s memory and raise money to support others enduring this horrific journey, and hopefully play a small part in working towards preventing this happening to anyone else 💛
