I’m running 2k a day in Febuary for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to running 2k a day this February for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Monday 2nd Feb
I committed last month to doing a new challenge for charity every month, last month I raised £225 for Cancer Research and now I am moving onto my new challenge for February.

This month I will be running 2km every day for SANDS.

This is a charity very close to my heart - those who know my daughter Ruby, you might not know, she is the little sister to 3 triplets - Nathan, Molly and Lola who were born very premature and passed away at birth. SANDS were a great support during that incredibly hard time and I want to raise money so they can continue doing the amazing work they do.

SANDS ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby.

While 2km per day might sound easy - the plot twist that as a single dad, some of these runs will need to be completed with Ruby in tow.

So expect hilarious updates of me trying to run with Ruby on my shoulders, in my arms... or luring her around the park with snacks and rubber ducks.
Negotiations with Ruby Starkey are harder than any negotiations I have had at work and she will not care about my personal bests if that impacts her chance to investigate every exciting twig we see along the path.

It won't be fast.
It won't be pretty.
But it will be done and for a great organisation like SANDS.
