2026 Walk 100k in September

I’m walking 100K in September for families facing baby loss

10 years ago we suffered our first miscarriage and hoped we would never have to experience that pain again. Unfortunately last month we experienced our second miscarriage. After a few years of hoping to fall pregnant again we had come to terms with the probably wasn't meant to be and that we were so lucky with the family we already had. A few days after that conversation we found out we were expecting. We of course were cautious due to our previous loss but couldn't help to become excited with the idea of the baby we hoped for, and imagine what life would be with them. Sadly our happiness only lasted a few weeks and we got the news we had another miscarriage. It felt cruel and unfair, but unfortunately we aren't the first people this has happened to and sadly not the last.

We decided to do this fundraiser not only to raise money, but to stop the stigma around talking about miscarriage and to honour the two babies we never got the chance to meet.

We have committed to walking 100K in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you,
