I’m walking 100K in September for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to walking 100K in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Why I’m walking 100km for Sands ❤️

This September, I’m challenging myself to walk 100km to raise money for Sands, a charity that will always have a very special place in my heart.

I’m doing this in memory of my daughters, Shanice and Rochelle.

Shanice was born at just 23 weeks and died in my arms. Rochelle was born on 5th July 1995 and passed away three days later, on 8th July.

Although many years have passed, you never forget your babies. They remain part of your family and part of your story.

This September feels particularly meaningful as Shanice would have been 32 on 3rd September. So rather than simply marking her birthday, I wanted to do something positive in her memory — and in Rochelle’s too.

I’ve set myself the challenge of walking 100km throughout September. Every kilometre will be for them, and for all the other babies who are loved, remembered and missed every single day. ❤️

Any donation, however small, would mean so much to me and will help Sands continue supporting bereaved parents and families.
