I’m running 2k a day in Febuary for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to running 2k a day this February for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much. 

Going through this personally was one of the lowest times of my life and wasn’t something many people spoke about. I suffered in silence which broke me. No one should suffer in silence.

TRIGGER WARNING ‼️ Baby loss

Tomorrow marks the start of my 56k run in February for Sands - baby loss charity that supports families affected by baby loss.

Back in 2020, I found out I was pregnant. I was absolutely over the moon — finally becoming a Mummy. Two weeks later, that joy was taken away from me. 

What followed was mental and physical pain that changed my life forever.
Even now, it still breaks my heart knowing that the time just wasn’t right for me.

💔 Miscarriage statistics
• Around 1 in 4 known pregnancies (25%) end in miscarriage, often within the first 12 weeks

• 10–20% of pregnancies end in early miscarriage (before 12 weeks)

• 3–4% result in second-trimester loss (13–23 weeks)

• Some research suggests over 30% of pregnancies end in loss, many before a missed period

These numbers are heartbreaking — and that’s why I’m doing this.

I’ve decided to run 56km throughout February to raise awareness and funds for SANDS. I’ll be completing most of the runs in Thailand, which will be a bit tougher than the Wigan weather 🥵🏃‍♀️
