My journey to 100km
Friday 11th SepThis September, I’m taking on the 100km challenge for Sands, a charity that means more to me than I could ever really put into words.
Baby loss has touched my life personally, and I wanted to turn some of the love and grief I carry into something positive, Raising awareness, supporting an incredible charity and remembering the little lives that will always mean so much to me. 🤍
100km might not sound like a huge challenge to everyone, but for me, it is. I’ve never been a particularly active person, and after a difficult few months, I’m still recovering both physically and emotionally from a recent loss.
I wanted to give myself something positive to work towards as I find my way forward.
Nothing extreme, and no pressure to suddenly become someone who can walk miles and miles every day just a reason to get up, move a little more and do what I can.
My challenge may look a little different because of that.
I’m counting the distance I cover throughout my everyday life and letting all those smaller distances add up. Some days will be more than others, but every little bit counts.
And in a way, I think that’s quite fitting. I don’t have to do it all at once. I don’t have to do it perfectly. I just have to keep going.
Every kilometre is in memory of the babies we carry in our hearts, and for every family living with a loss that stays with them long after the rest of the world carries on.
Here’s to 100km — however I get there. 💙✨

I’m so proud of you and I know our babies are cheering you on every step of the way ❤️
