I’m taking part in Sands Starlight Walk

I’m taking part in Sands Starlight Walk as I want to help those affected by the loss of a baby to find the light in the dark. Every day 13 babies die before, during or shortly after birth. I am raising funds to help Sands continue to build a world where more babies survive, and more families receive the happy ending they deserve.

Please sponsor me and help Sands create a legacy of hope and comfort, showing the world how much every baby is loved.

Starlight Walk is a sponsored walk where hundreds of people come together to walk under the stars to remember their babies and raise funds for Sands. If you’d like to join me on this challenge, you can sign up here http://www.fundraising.sands.org.uk/starlight-walk Starlight Walk events take place across the UK or you could choose to take part virtually at a location of your choice.

On the darkest of nights, the stars shine the brightest.

Our little Pip 💖

Wednesday 10th Sep
In 2016 I got pregnant with my first child, a baby girl! We went for a private scan )16 weeks and 4 days) and everything was great! Baby was healthy and we found out we were having a girl. All was well until our 20 week scan, when we were told “there is no heartbeat”. I can’t even describe to you how that moment felt. It was painful. I had to go into hospital Christmas Day to take some medication, then back again two days later to deliver our sleeping girl. It was an extremely traumatic experience, I was experiencing painful contractions for 12 hours. They say she was around 17 weeks gestation. The cause was never known, there was a few things like a large blood clot behind my placenta and my cervix was very short… but we’ll never know what actually happened. I still struggle 9 years later,  and often have to take some time away from social interaction around the Christmas period. So what better way to remember our angel than to take part in the starlight walk, please donate if you can… or apply and join me!
That’s a shortened story of our Piper lily for short Pip 🖤 x
