Why I'm doing this...
Those of you who know me will already know that Craig and I had a beautiful baby girl before our gorgeous, crazy, boys.
She was very much loved from the moment we saw those little red lines. Everyone was so happy for us and we were so excited to start our little family. Fast forward a perfect 6 months of wedding planning, enjoying my pregnancy and celebrating our perfect wedding day, followed by the most wonderful honeymoon to then, after just a month of being married, finding out that our little princess had passed at just 23.6 weeks gestation.
Heartbreaking start to married life and all our dreams for our baby girl gone. We needed support and lots of it. We are very lucky to have such supportive family and friends, some were with us even during the beginnings of her labour, but none of them truly understood what we were going through. (thankfully, as I wouldn't wish that pain on anyone.)
That's where Sands comes in. The support they gave us was like no other, there was so much they did for us at the one of the worst times of our lives. The main thing that helped me particularly was the meetings with other couples who were going through or had been through similar experiences of baby loss. We were still attending those meetings here and there just a few years ago!!
We are now almost 10 years on, October will mark Isabella's 10th birthday and I want to raise some money for Sands again, in her honor.
I pledge to walk 100k in September as part of an event created by Sands.
This will be a bit of a challenge for me as after a relapse of grief/poor mental health I am now at my heaviest (why I'm doing this and not the ribbon run 🙈).
In helping raise funds for Sands I'm not just helping them and so many others, I aim to also help myself, to do something in memory of my girl, to do something for my mental health and take more steps in working on my physical health at the same time.
Please donate what you can to help me achieve my goal to help Sands so that they can help others!!
In memory of our precious baby girl, Isabella Jean Allin and all the other angel babies too beautiful for earth 🩷🩵
