My target 50 kms
I’m running 50k in September for families facing baby loss
This September, I’ll be running 50km in honour of our baby, who we heartbreakingly lost at 16 weeks earlier this year. No parent should have to experience that kind of loss, yet sadly, so many do.
I’m running to raise both awareness and vital funds for Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity. Sands supports bereaved families, funds crucial research into saving babies’ lives, and works tirelessly to improve care for anyone affected by the death of a baby.
Anyone who knows me knows I’m not a runner (or even much of an exerciser!) — so this is going to be a real challenge for me. But that’s exactly why I’m doing it. Every step I take will be for our baby, and for all the babies who never got the chance to grow up — and for the families learning to live with that absence.
