2026 Ribbon Run Virtual

I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I’ve committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week (9-15 October) for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

Doing this for my angel babies

Saturday 12th Sep
I experienced my first miscarriage 3 years ago, completely on my own sat waiting in a&e for 12 hours over night while i was bleeding knowing what was happening but had no support had to go back days later to have it confirmed.

Recently just gone through a second one with my wife. We went for an early private scan as i was so anxious and they couldn’t see anything. We were hoping it was because i was earlier than we first thought. A week or f appointments back and forth to the hospital for blood tests. And the final day we were going before we left i started bleeding, we were devastated and the pain was unbearable the whole journey. The hospital staff we incredible, after seeing me crying in the waiting area they found us a private room to wait. After having the scan and blood test waiting a few hours for the results they confirmed we had lost the baby at 6 weeks 2 days.

We need to make people more aware of talking about miscarriages and pregnancy loss everyone had the right to grieve the baby they won’t get to bring home and raise money for more support for both parents if you can help and donate even just a small amount it will go such a long way to help support grieving families
