I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I’ve committed to taking part in Sands Ribbon Run which takes place during Baby Loss Awareness Week (9-15 October) for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

Hi everyone,
This October, I will be challenging myself to run 75km for Baby Loss Awareness Month in memory of my beautiful son, Theo. 💙
Theo was stillborn at 39 weeks on Christmas Eve 2022. There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t think about him. He will always be our son, always part of our family, and we love and miss him more than words can ever explain.
Baby loss is something that affects so many families, yet it can still be incredibly difficult to talk about. No parent should ever feel that they have to grieve their baby in silence or feel afraid to say their name.
That’s why throughout October I’ll be running 75km and raising money for Sands, a charity that supports bereaved parents and families and works to improve maternity safety and save babies’ lives.
Every kilometre I run will be for Theo, but also for every baby who is loved, remembered and deeply missed, and for every family who has had to experience the heartbreak of baby loss.
If sharing our story helps even one person feel less alone, or encourages someone to speak their baby’s name, then it means something.
Any donation, no matter how small, or even simply sharing this fundraiser would mean so much to us and help support the important work Sands does.
