I’m running 2k a day in Febuary for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to running 2k a day this February for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

81.8km run in total this month! So happy to have stuck with this and push myself to run my first 5k for the last run. Thank you so much for sponsoring me, it kept me going on the days I really couldn’t be bothered! X

Almost there!

Thursday 26th Feb
Just a few runs left to go now! Looking forward to a day off but I’ve enjoyed seeing how much I’ve progressed over the last few weeks. I can run 20mins now without stopping (thanks couch to 5k week 5!) so that’s almost 3km at my pace. Planning to run twice tomorrow as a catch up run for one of the days I missed and hoping to finish on a high with my first 5k on Saturday which I’ll count as another catch up run. 

Halfway point

Saturday 14th Feb
Gutted that I’ve had to miss two days of this challenge due to a sickness bug. But I will add on an extra two days to the end to make up for it. Despite the last couple of days I’ve managed to run 37km this month so far! Motivated as ever to get well and get running again tomorrow for such a great cause xx

Week 1 done!

Saturday 7th Feb
Just back from run 7 of this challenge and feeling so happy to have run every day this week. Hard to get out the door on Wednesday night but knew I couldn’t let myself or you sponsors down so got it done! I’ve noticed a big difference in my stamina already and can now run 5mins without stopping consistently - doesn’t sound like much but not being a runner before even that felt daunting. Week 5 of couch to 5k coming up so looking forward to being able to run for even longer. I’ll keep uploading my daily Strava images to the gallery here so you can keep tabs on me. Hope everyone has had a lovely week and I’ll report back after week 2 is complete xx
