🌊 Swimming for Rachel, and every other much-loved baby🌷

Hi, I’m Anna Marie. This November I’ll be swimming 5K to raise money for Sands, and for every much loved baby who sadly isn’t here today.

21 years ago, my family faced the kind of loss no one can ever prepare for. On November 12th, 2004, my older sister Rachel was stillborn. Though I never had the chance to meet her, her presence and absence have shaped my life in so many ways. I’ve grown up watching my parents carry both unimaginable pain and incredible love, finding strength in the memory of their beautiful baby girl.

For the longest time, I’ve wanted to honour Rachel. To keep her memory alive, to turn grief into something that gives back. So, this November, I swim.

For Rachel.

For my mum and dad.

For every family who has ever had to say goodbye too soon.

By supporting Sands, we can make sure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies pass and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby.

Together, we can help keep the memory of every precious baby alive in love. Every single donation carries love, remembrance and hope. Any donation you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, for making every stroke count. 🩷💙

🌊 Swimming for Rachel, Day One🌷

Saturday 1st Nov
Happy November guys!! Today is day one of the November swim challenge and I completed my first 7 lengths of the challenge.

I've been out of the swimming game for over two years now and NOTHING could have prepared me for how difficult I found it trying to swim for the first time in years. But it was so worth it!! I had so much fun getting back into the swing of it and can't wait to continue on with the challenge tomorrow.

I want to take the chance now to say a massive thank you to every single person who has donated to my fundraiser so far, I appreciate all of you so much. I didn't think so many people would be interested in my campaign but it is so nice to see everyone come together to help support families affected by the loss of a child.

So far we've been able to raise over £615 for Sands and words can't actually describe how thankful I am.

I'll keep updating you all throughout the month!
