I’m walking 100K in September for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to walking 100K in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

Walking for Willow

Thursday 21st Aug
My daughter Jemma and son in law Aaron story:

On 09.08.2025 our world was turned upside down when the happiest time of our lives turned out to be the saddest most unimaginable moment.

Following a beautiful 12 hours in labour at home we travelled to hospital to give birth to our first baby, the baby we had wanted so much. After 6 hours of labouring in the birthing pool our lives stopped in motion when we were told no heartbeat could be heard. Just like that.

Our baby was announced as dead at 11:15am on the 9.08.2025.

Still not knowing what we were expecting I went  on and naturally delivered our beautiful little angel girl,  Willow Wren Way, at 2:47am on the 10.08.25.

The birth was so bitter sweet, experiencing the labour I had worked so hard for having had the perfect pregnancy, yoga throughout, Hypnobirthing classes and my supportive fiancé by my side throughout. We were luckily given the opportunity to still cut the cord as planned, have skin on skin time with our sleeping angel and will look back on those memories with joy and sorrow forever.

The following days were spent building precious memories with family around us learning every eyelash, toe and wrinkle Willow had. We saved prints, photos and spent 3 days with our beautiful baby girl before having to say goodbye.

Without the help of Sands, the forget me not suite, 4Louis and the staff at Royal Stoke we wouldn’t have had these precious days to look back on and cherish.

We hope to raise some money to support other family going through the nightmare we are still living in now, to bring a little light in a time so dark.

Thank you to all our friends and family who have been our rocks throughout the last few weeks.
