Henry James

In August 2022 I lost my baby at 23 and half weeks due to a hypercoiled umbilical cord.  

I had reduced movements so went to the antenatal day unit where they tried to listen to the heartbeat but couldn’t find it, they said sometimes the baby can be sat in a weird position and they’d scan me to check on him however I already knew it was going to be bad news. I’ll never forget lying on the bed while the 2nd sonographer came in, those few minutes felt like a lifetime until we heard ‘I’m so sorry, there’s no heartbeat.’

After a few days in hospital I had my baby boy, Henry James. Nobody and nothing can prepare you for how hard it is, being on the labour ward listening to babies first cry while Id never get to hear my baby, see his eyes or feel his hand grip my finger. 

However, there is so much support out there for those who want and need it. They helped me as did reading other people’s experience. 

For someone who is not active and hasn’t been for a while (I’m currently 3 months postpartum with a baby girl, Harriet) 2k a day is going to be a massive challenge to me and so I appreciate every single penny you can spare to donate!
